The Candybot.

With Halloween around the corner, a MINDSTORMS builder created this amazing candy dispensing robot made entirely of LEGO materials – the CandyBot. Created by community member Andy Milluzzi, a software engineer, the robot was built using several LEGO Technic sets and powered by LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3, the groundbreaking LEGO robotics platform that uses a variety of sensors and motors and allows users to bring their creations to life with programmable actions. Complete with a face, hands and plenty of personality, the CandyBot scoops and distributes candy just in time for Halloween.

About CandyBot
The CandyBot is packed with personality as the EV3 brick serves as his face – complete with red teeth. He has two arms, one holding the candy bowl and another ready to lift the hopper and distribute candy. He also has a wheel for a tail which scoops up candy and it moves along his conveyor belt body before landing in the candy hopper.

The CandyBot takes full advantage of many of the sensors and motors of the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 set. The bot fills up the hopper until there is enough candy (determined by a light sensor). When you get close (using the IR sensor), he opens the hopper and candy falls into your bag.
